This provides our customers with confidence in knowing their vehicle maintenance is in safe hands.

Following a recent review by external consultants FPA, the Essex County Fire & Rescue Fleet Workshops have been rated as one of the best Fire & Rescue Authority Workshops in the UK.

The workshops are comprehensively equipped to support and maintain not only our own fleet but also that of our external customers. In addition our contracts include maintenance packages covering a variety of commercial and passenger vehicles for both individual and fleet users.

• 16 bay general repair workshop, machine shop, welding bay, electrical equipment bay, hoists, pit & rolling road facility.
• Brake, winch, smoke emission testing and certification.
• MOT test station for Class 4 and 7 vehicles.
• Main water pump & LPP (Light Portable Pump) repair and testing workshop including a 7 metre test well.
• Oven bake spray booths catering for accident damage repairs and refurbishments.
• Welding facility.
• Equipment workshop specialising in ladder and rescue equipment repairs, testing and certification.
• Non destructive crack testing.
